ABSTRACT Despite making great strides over the past 50 years, cultural resources data management and synthesis continues to be elusive nonstandardized, with each state agency developing disparate systems that do not easily mesh. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has embarked on a national initiative by creating National Cultural Resources Data Standard (NCRDS) works address many long-standing organization issues.
